What: Club Monaco Mens Shop Opening.

Where: 157 Bloor Street, Toronto.

Over the weekend I had the opportunity to drop by the Club Monaco Flagship store on Bloor to celebrate the opening of the newly renovated 5000 square foot Men’s Shop.  I was impressed by the overall aesthetic of the space, and was overwhelmed (pleasantly) by the number of brands CM was now offering.  I got to meet Aaron Levine, VP of Mens Design and A Continuous Lean‘s Michael Williams who are responsible for the Club Monaco x ACL collaboration collection, which includes suiting, shirts, and ties.  The garments are proudly made in the USA and pay homage to good ole American heritage menswear.  The event featured haircuts and shoe shines by Garrison’s Barber Shop, Canadian Whiskey by Proof, and tailoring advice from the good folks at Green Shag Bespoke. Here are of the items I was stoked to see at the shop:

• Tricker’s – killer Brogue Boots.
• Burkman Bros. – Bracelets. (near back cash)
• Tanner Goods – sunglasses / eyeglasses case
• Mark McNairy x Bass Weejuns chukkas

WHO: Mickey Drexler (CEO) and Jenna Lyons and J.Crew, Media, “VIPs”, and uh well me.

THE LOWDOWN:  Most importantly I was comforted assured by Jenna herself that Menswear is a comin… **WHEW**
